New Blog, New Era
Woot, a new blog, a new mission, a new era. Let the fun begin!
I’m a little late to the Tumblr craze, and while I’ll miss the customisation of Wordpress, the social aspect of throwing my blog up here I think will be awesome. I was contemplating importing posts from my previous blog, but as I hadn’t updated it since 2007 I thought I’d just start a new.
So a little background about me, as of writing, I’m 22 years old and just graduated university with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wollongong, but that is really irrelevant. For about 5 or 6 years now I’ve been determined to become a full-time entrepreneur.
That process has been on and off for a while. I’ve tried various little startups beginning with a small computer business I ran from home when I was 17. I’ve made various websites and even been involved in an MLM scheme. None of which worked, partly because I tend to suffer from procrastination and often skip to the next “epic” idea before launching the current one. However despite all my attempts, I still believe they have helped me grow as a budding entrepreneur. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find any successful entrepreneurs who haven’t wasted time and money in various startups before they hit one that worked.
Within the last few months, the shit has become real. With no more cushy government benefits to pay for rent, food, and the party life of a uni student… and facing the prospect of maybe having to get a job, myself and a close friend, Tristan Grace, have started an “umbrella” company called Singularitus Pty Ltd and our first business called Webretary. I’m sure I’ll be talking more about these in future posts.
The plan with this blog will be to do 1 post and 1 quick video per week about various topics and issues relating to my ventures, entrepreneurship, internet happenings and technology, futurism, the singularity and other topics of interest. So hopefully you find them intriguing and we can get a dialogue going on.
